THREE-month-old Talica Lewanikaria from Fiji and 15-year-old Ititaake Ereata from Kiribati are the two latest recipients of the Gift of Life ceremony held at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital last week. The children had undergone life-saving heart surgery on July 28 and July 30 respectively under Hearts 4 Kids Foundation New Zealand, a paediatric cardiac team led by Dr Kirsten Finucane Officiating at the event, Samoan High Commissioner Feturi Elisaia said there was a time and season for everything under the sun. “And today’s season is a time for celebration as we are celebrating another day, another month and another year added to these beautiful young people of the Pacific,” he said.

Mr Elisaia said with the different medical teams that came on board to help, it spoke on the goodness of the heart. “In my line of work, we talk a lot about regionalism, but this is true regionalism right here.”.
