STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The truck driver in a crash that killed three people in Monroe County last year is facing three counts of homicide by vehicle, among other charges. The violent accident happened in March 2023 when a tractor-trailer crossed the center median on Route 33 in Hamilton Township and hit oncoming traffic near Saylorsburg, Monroe County.

Samantha Crich, then 40, of Wilkes-Barre; a 14-year-old passenger in her car; and Bryan Franco, then 25, of Hellertown, were the three people killed in the crash. The driver of the truck has been arrested and charged with three counts of homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence-related offenses, Monroe County Assistant District Attorney Curtis Rogers told 69 News. Rogers said the driver was arraigned on Wednesday and is being held without bail.



His preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 20..
