As interest in food tourism continues to grow, the elements of exploring, enjoying, and sharing unique culinary delights have become integral to travel. According to Trip.com’s latest data, there has been a significant uptick of over 30% in global searches for culinary-related terms, with increasing attention on phrases like “fine dining,” “local specialties,” and location-based searches such as “Tokyo street food” and “Singapore cuisine.

com, Trip.Gourmet has rapidly become the definitive resource for culinary travel enthusiasts. The guide offers comprehensive global restaurant rankings, curated food-related content, and streamlined reservation capabilities.

At a recent event, Trip.Gourmet rolled out several significant enhancements: Revamped Global Selection and Ranking System: The updated system now encompasses more than 10,000 restaurants across over 300 cities worldwide. These eateries are organized into four new categories that merge the joys of travel and gastronomy: Fine Dining (Black Diamond, Diamond, and Platinum), Local Restaurants, Light Bites, and Restaurants for Views & Experiences.

Restaurants are chosen based on a combination of quality, user feedback, thematic relevance, and destination popularity, with a renewed focus on the travel-related aspects of dining experiences. Seamless Integration with Trip.com: As part of its latest updates, Trip.

Gourmet has fully integrated these curated lists into the Trip.com app. This integration enables travelers to effortlessly explore premier accommodations, activities, and dining options, enhancing their overall travel experience.

Spotlight on Culinary Masters and Luxurious Hotels The awards gala highlighted numerous prestigious dining venues across the Asia-Pacific, including acclaimed establishments like Odette, Waku Ghin, and CUT by Wolfgang Puck in Singapore; Kubu at Mandapa in Bali; and Potong in Bangkok, among others. The Black Diamond category featured notable entries from culinary strongholds such as France, China, and Japan, with nearly half of the top-rated establishments hailing from these countries. European culinary excellence was also celebrated with entries from the UK, France, and Spain.

Luxury hotel restaurants played a prominent role, accounting for 41% of the rankings, indicating a preference among affluent travelers for hotel-based dining. Highlights include Lai Po Heen at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, JAAN by Kirk Westaway at Swissôtel The Stamford Singapore, and Ossiano at Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai, with the Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton brands showcasing multiple celebrated dining venues. Gourmet has enhanced its reservation capabilities, now facilitating direct bookings for over 50,000 restaurants through major platforms such as The Fork, Chope, OpenRice, OpenTable, and TableCheck. Celebrating Local Cuisine with New Food Channels To deepen travelers’ engagement with local cultures, Trip.Gourmet has introduced a Food Guide Channel on both Trip.

com and Ctrip. This platform highlights local specialties and seasonal dishes, encouraging culinary discovery.
