NFL star Travis Kelce is taking a big swing at his next business venture. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has become a huge fan of golf in recent years, taking part in a number of celebrity tournaments. According to a well-placed source, Kelce is now in talks to invest in a series of golf courses in the United States, Caribbean and Europe.

The investment group plans to buy land to build luxurious new golf courses in these three geographic areas. There are also plans to enhance existing courses by modernizing them or developing the surrounding land. Kelce will invest around $8 million into the project, per the source, with the goal to invest more in the coming years.

"Travis is turning into a serious and successful entrepreneur," says one person close to Kelce’s entourage. "And he always has new ideas and is being approached by a lot of people and businessmen to join and invest in different fields, to extend his already very profitable portfolio.

"He got approached not that long ago by a couple of people that own golf courses in many countries around the world, and he is really interested in joining them." Most read in American Football Kelce has displayed his love of golf by playing the American Century Championship celebrity tournament in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, with his brother Jason in July. Last year, he took part in made-for-TV event The Match with Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes alongside then Golden State Warriors duo Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

And Kelce, who is dating pop megastar Taylor Swift , sees the value of golf from a business perspective as he looks to add to his investment portfolio. "He knows that golf is a sport that is always going to be one of the most played in the world and you can make a lot of business by playing golf and hanging out on the course with many successful entrepreneurs that love the sport and to network," the source added. "This is the kind of project that Travis gets enthusiastic about, and he is really looking forward to get this project going.

"He has been talking for many months now that hotels and resorts are a target for him. "There have been talks with many groups in the recent weeks to have him get on board as a shareholder and even an ambassador for some groups that have hotels and resorts all over the world, like many beach places like the Bahamas, Thailand, some Greek Islands and Barbados for example.

" Kelce would receive a large compensation package centered around an advertisement campaign for the resorts. He would also be awarded shares in the company to help him learn about the resorts business. Kelce and Mahomes are also part of a business consortium plowing $30 million into a steakhouse business .

And according to a source close to the three-time Super Bowl winner, Kelce has been inspired by his love of Italy to open his own pizza joint . He hopes to open primarily in Kansas City, before expanding in Chicago, New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Detroit.
