A devastating Blackpool house fire that killed a ‘beautiful’ couple and left their children in hospital is not being treated as suspicious, police have revealed. Detectives from Lancashire Police say there was no third party involved in the blaze - and have called for an end to speculation surrounding the fire. Josh Pearson, aged 28, and Danielle Bamber, 24, tragically died after flames engulfed their terraced home on Peter Street in the early hours of Wednesday (July 17).

Danielle was tragically found dead at the scene. Joshua was rushed to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, where he later passed away. The six-year-old was taken to hospital after the fire but thankfully did not sustain any serious injuries and has since been discharged. The 21-month-old remains in hospital in a poorly condition, according to police. In an update today (July 24) Lancashire Police said the fire is not being treated as suspicious following an investigation by officers, LancsLive reports.

A spokesman from the force said: "Following a comprehensive investigation by officers from our Force Major Investigation Team, working alongside our colleagues from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and other experts, we can now confirm that the fire is not being treated as suspicious. “We know that there has been speculation around potential third party involvement and hope this update puts an end to any uncertainty. 39am last Wednesday following reports of a fire with people reported to be inside the property. There was a significant emergency response involving officers and our colleagues from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service." Tributes have poured in for Josh and Danielle following the news of their deaths.

In a heartbreaking tribute issued by police, Josh’s family said: “Joshua was a much-loved son that will be sorely missed, who adored his girlfriend and children.” Danielle’s family also issued a tribute, and said: “We as a family are devastated by what has happened to Danielle, our daughter and her family. Please allow us respect as a family to grieve in peace and refrain from any further speculation on social media and to refrain from posting further pictures of Danielle and her family.
