Complaints have been made about lights which were change on a road while resurfacing work took place in Bolton . The issue has been raised by people on Hospital Road, Bromley Cross. They say that the lights are only allowing two or three cars to pass in one go.
As a result traffic is building up and going all the way back to the Co-op store on Darwen Road. The roadworks are on Darwen Road and Turton Road . The works began on July 22 and were due to last around four weeks depending on the weather conditions.

She said they needed to be reset. She said: "Drivers are currently experiencing delays at the traffic lights at the junction of Darwen Road and Hospital Road in Bromley Cross.
"This is a result of the recent resurfacing work. The lights need to be reset, loops recut, and Urban Traffic Control (UTC) do this. "They are booked weeks in advance when a project is being undertaken.
In this case, the resurfacing work was completed ahead of schedule and so we are waiting for UTC to re cut the loops. "We are advised that this should be done before the schools return after the summer break but are awaiting confirmation of the timescale." One person who has noticed the issue is nearby resident Angela Hare.
"I have not been to the lights since the weekend as I work from home, but when I was last down they were only letting a few through at a time, by the time a driver had got into first gear and driven only a few could get through." A Bolton Council spokesperson said when the roadworks were announced: “The closures on Darwen Road and Turton Road are to enable the roads to be resurfaced. “The works are being carried out during the school holidays when there is generally less traffic on the roads.
The closures will be in force off-peak, from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
“Turton Road will not be closed at the same time as Darwen Road and vice versa." A Transport for Greater Manchester spokesperson said the issue was being addressed. They said: "There are some issues due to resurfacing works that took place a short time ago, which had damaged the vehicle detection loops.
"An engineer attended the site on Wednesday evening to make manual changes to the junction timings which should alleviate some of the problems. These changes will be monitored and adjusted should the need arise. "The junction is unlikely to operate at full efficiency until the detection loops are recut.
"This work to recut the loops has been arranged and is due to take place week commencing 26-August.".
