Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Sunday arrested a trader dealing in the firecracker business and seized a huge quantity of illegal firecrackers from his shop and godown. The joint team of Raniganj police and the fire department sealed the godown and shop of Haider Ali , a resident of Sultanpur village (Raniganj), after they found large quantity of readymade firecrackers stored illegally. The accused was also booked under section 9(k) of the Explosive Act.
The arrested trader told the police that he had a valid licence, but he was manufacturing and stocking the firecrackers at another place, despite the fact that the licence was applicable to a different location..
