But for economically disadvantaged children, reading at a proficient level can be a particularly daunting struggle. According to the National Assessment of Adult Literacy, two-thirds of children can't read proficiently by the end of fourth grade. The program will be providing books and educational tools to Title I funded schools across the Nation and distributing books to children at Christmastime—ensuring that children living in disadvantaged communities have the resources that will open doors to a successful future.
