Toyota is taking luxury to new heights with the confirmation of the Century GRMN SUV’s series production. Initially revealed as a one-off prototype in September 2023, this performance-oriented variant is poised to rival the Rolls Royce Cullinan Black Badge. New Delhi: Toyota is set to elevate its luxury lineup with the production of the Century GRMN SUV, a performance-focused variant of the Century luxury SUV.

Originally unveiled in September 2023 as a one-off prototype, the Century GRMN is now confirmed to enter series production, as revealed by Toyota Corporation’s chairman, Akio Toyoda, during a recent meeting with Century owners in China. Toyota GRMN SUV: Expected Changes The Century GRMN SUV is expected to feature several design and performance enhancements, setting it apart from the standard Century model. The exterior will sport a more aggressive look with a pronounced front splitter, specially designed side skirts, and a rear diffuser—all crafted from carbon fibre.

The 22-inch alloy wheels, finished in gloss black, further add to the SUV’s dynamic stance, which sits lower than the standard version. Additionally, the vehicle retains the luxurious sliding rear doors, a hallmark of the Century range. Toyota GRMN SUV: Expected Mechanical Specifications Under the hood, the Century GRMN is anticipated to offer upgraded performance components, including a sharper chassis setup, revised suspension, and improved steering and braking systems.

While specific powertrain details remain under wraps, it is likely that the GRMN variant will surpass the standard Century SUV’s 406hp, produced by its 3.5-litre V6 hybrid engine paired with an e-CVT gearbox and Toyota’s E-Four Advanced AWD system. Toyota GRMN SUV: Rivals This upcoming model marks Toyota’s ambition to extend its luxury SUV offerings to a global audience, positioning the Century GRMN as a direct competitor to the Rolls Royce Cullinan Black Badge.

The GRMN badge, which stands for “Gazoo Racing, tuned by the Meister of the Nürburgring,” is reserved for Toyota’s most extreme performance vehicles, sitting above the GR (Gazoo Racing) line and other sport-focused variants. With its combination of luxury, exclusivity, and high performance, the Toyota Century GRMN SUV is poised to make a significant impact in the ultra-luxury SUV market, expanding Toyota’s reach beyond its traditional territories of Japan and China..
