Toyota Camry 2025 Facelift Hybrid Road Test Review: Why This Sedan Is Still Loved By The Elite
The Camry hybrid is the sole standing sedan in its class and that either shows the resilience of Toyota or how customers love the Camry while elsewhere the market is moving to SUVs. However, interestingly, the elite of India also love the understated Camry with even billionaires having one tucked away for everyday use. The new one is even better and this time we tested it to see if it is still a great buy with increasing competition from luxury SUVs.Toyota Camry 2025 Facelift Hybrid: How does it look? The new Camry hybrid has a sharper suit this time and looks better while the shape remains the same. The front-end has the new hammerhead styling theme which gives it a hint of Lexus with more aggression. We love the way the headlamps are designed and the way the grille flows into them. From the side, you can see the long length of the car while now there are new alloys too. The same design is seen at the wear with new tail-lamps which again adds to the look. It is much more striking and finally looks more aggressive.Toyota Camry 2025 Facelift Hybrid InteriorThe interior of the earlier Camry hybrid lacked many creature comforts and had an outdated look. Not anymore with a different dashboard along with the way the vents blend in with the slats. There is a larger touchscreen now and the tan/black combo is classy. There is also a lot of gloss black trim used. Quality is good and the interior feels premium but not the most luxurious with a restrained look. The steering wheel is new and so is the digital cluster while the touchscreen slick while being ripped off from a Lexus. Even the centre console is new.Further on, the features list is huge with a 10-way power adjust, ventilation, three zone climate control, 360-degree camera (with decent resolution), wireless Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, ADAS, sunroof, HUD, digital key, JBL 10-speaker audio and more. The rear seat though is occupied by owners the most with huge space and decent headroom, although the car is low and tall passengers need to duck in. That said, the seats are plush and have more features than cars costing more than double. There is powered recline, a touchscreen for controls including a separate climate control for the rear and more. Also Read : Tata Harrier EV To Launch Soon In India, Check Out Range, Interiors, And Other FeaturesToyota Camry 2025 Facelift Hybrid: Driving ExperienceThe Camry hybrid continues with a 2.5-litre petrol engine along with the hybrid system which develops more power at 230hp than before. 0-100 km/h is around 7 second plus but again owners don't care and neither should you. The Camry is all about comfort. At low speeds, it is silent running on electric power and most of your city driving would be electric with a light throttle output. the car is quiet, comfortable and the ride quality is brilliant in the way it cushions the road. You drive the Camry in eco mode and with light throttle- which most chauffeurs will oblige. Here, with the comfort and suspension, it is actually more comfortable than any other car costing half a crore. Put your foot down though and the engine kicks in but you get the sense that the car does not like this and with the engine getting louder. Refinement is quite good and it is best to cruise. With the hybrid, we also got more than 15-16 kmpl which is amazing for a large luxury sedan and you can get even more. Despite being quite long, the Camry hybrid is also easy to drive while the low ground clearance is the only thing to take care of but again it never scrapes its underside.Toyota Camry 2025 Facelift Hybrid: Is It Worth A Buy?For luxury, rear seat comfort and refinement, yes, the new Camry could be a nice alternative to a luxury SUV, even at Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). The Camry hybrid gives luxury sedans costing much more stiff competition with its stellar refinement, space and rear seat comfort plus the efficiency is superb. It is the restrained luxury sedan for the wealthy but now looks more aggressive in its own right too while standing out in the corporate car park. Yes, it is not a fun to drive luxury car but it does not aim to be since it is about comfort, refinement and that it does very well. For its small but loyal fan following, this new Camry is a much more appealing car.
