Almost a year ago, a reboot of “The Toxic Avenger” premiered at Fantastic Fest to good reviews, the film sitting at a 92% (7.0/10) score on from over two dozen reviews. Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Julia Davis, Jonny Coyne, Elijah Wood and Kevin Bacon co-star in the film about a terminally ill janitor who falls into a pit of toxic waste and is transformed into a deformed monster out for revenge.

Since that screening however there’s not been a peep beyond rumors of it being a very hard film for producer/distributor Legendary Pictures to market. Out promoting his new western film “The Thicket,” Dinklage was asked by about the status of “The Toxic Avenger” release and says: “I’m not a producer on it. I don’t know.

I do want it to get out there into the world because it was a really big hit at Fantastic Fest in Austin, and Macon Blair, the writer/director who is also in The Thicket ...

He’s incredible. He’s one of my favorite people and favorite artists. So hopefully it will have its day in the toxic sun.

” The film was shot almost three years ago now with the teaser released back in September last year..
