There is a legend that the mud behind the lake has some therapeutic benefits to it.

" She extolled the virtues of the local mud, claiming: "It's a really good exfoliant; apparently it's amazing for eczema or if you have any skin condition. It also helps with pain relief and inflammation." After trying it herself, Cari raved about how the mud left her skin feeling "so soft".

However, those wishing to visit should note that according to Welcome to Alicante, reaching the pink lagoon requires a car since public transport doesn't quite cut it. Don't miss..

The Pink Lake in Torrevieja is a must-see during the summer months, with June to September offering the most intense vibrant pink hues due to the hot weather. Social media has been set ablaze by Cari's video of the stunning Pink Lake, which has amassed over 2.1 million views, secured 197,100 likes and sparked 594 comments.

The lake's striking colour and purported health benefits have left many travellers in awe. Dani was charmed by the lake's aesthetic, saying: "It's giving rose quartz lake vibes." Trending Joja expressed regret at missing out: "Yooo what?!?!? I was in Alicante literally two days ago on vacation and didn't know it was there?!?!???" Frankie enthusiastically added, "This is going on the bucket list," while Lauren lamented, "I wanna go so bad.

" May shared local pride: "Ahh so happy seeing people enjoying our salt ponds/baths! We live a five-minute walk from here." Tripadvisor reviews also shed light on the experience. RadiantX appreciated the tranquility and accessibility: "I liked the serenity of the place.

Accessibility was good. The walkways were even and there appeared to be accessibility for a range of users." However, RadiantX noted a lack of the expected red hue: "Unfortunately, the laguna did not look red or have any tint of red.

More information on what triggers the red bloom would be appreciated. The focus was on bird watching. We saw some waterfowls and flamingoes.

.. a binocular would have been handy to take.

" Caroline penned an enthusiastic review, saying: "You can get the street train to this place, there is a guide who will explain why the water is pink, it's mind-blowing. There are mounds and mounds of salt piles. There are so many different breeds of birds around the lake including flamingoes.

It's well worth a visit." Yet, some visitors have words of caution for those with delicate skin. Paul remarked: "Difficult trek to the water, passing a multitude of a unique species of snail.

" "The salt lagoon is pink from a distance and blood red when in. I have been with two people who found that their skin was too sensitive and had to have the salt washed off rapidly, but many people are happy to cover themselves in mud, allow it to dry, and then soak in the water. Very slippy underfoot, take care.
