Saturday, August 24, 2024 Tourism Ireland is proudly supporting ARTE, a leading European cultural TV channel, as it films two captivating episodes on the island of Ireland this month. The episodes will focus on Northern Ireland and Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, showcasing the region’s rich culture and history. Backed by Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI, this project is set to air next spring in Germany and France as part of the ARTE Découverte series.
Each 45-minute episode will engage around 800,000 viewers, with an additional 300,000 watching through ARTE’s streaming service. This initiative highlights Ireland’s stunning landscapes and vibrant heritage to a broad international audience. Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Germany, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to support the production of these two 45-minute episodes showcasing Northern Ireland and Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands.
With around 1.1 million people in Germany and France expected to watch both episodes on the ARTE TV channel and streaming service, it’s a great way to inspire potential visitors by shining a spotlight on our rich culture, heritage and history, as well as our breath-taking landscapes. “Publicity and broadcasts like this are a key element of Tourism Ireland’s programme of activity, to inspire travellers in Germany and France to put the island of Ireland on their holiday wish-list.
