Tuesday, August 13, 2024 The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) showcased a rich array of travel experiences and special offers for Taiwanese visitors at the “Amazing Thailand Travel Fair 2024” held on 10-11 August in Taipei, Taiwan. Mr. Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, said “The Amazing Thailand Travel Fair celebrates the newly implemented visa exemption for Taiwanese tourists, while strengthening the friendship between Thailand and Taiwan.

We hope the event will inspire Taiwanese travellers to visit Thailand for our beautiful attractions, diverse cuisines, vibrant festivals, and warm hospitality.” The fair was a collaborative effort between TAT and several key partners including the Thailand Trade and Economic Office – Taipei, the Department of Information and Tourism of Taipei City Government, National Chengchi University, and the Thai Trade Office – Taipei, along with local tour operators and airlines. Designed to evoke the festive spirit of the Loi Krathong Festival, the event was intended to entice Taiwanese tourists to visit Thailand and experience the celebration in November.

The campaign “Amazing Thailand: Your Stories Never End” was also highlighted at the fair, showcasing Thailand’s cultural allure through five engaging activities. These activities featured traditional Thai dances, Muay Thai exhibitions, a Thai Xylophone solo performance by YouTube artist ‘Fino the Ranad’, drag performances by Natalia Pliacam from Drag Race Thailand Season I, and demonstrations on how to prepare Southern Thai milk tea (Cha Chuck) and Northeastern Thai (Isan) cuisine. The event also included entertainment from Thai BoyLove/GirlLove celebrities, a workshop on crafting biodegradable krathongs, and opportunities for guests to don traditional Thai costumes for photos, participate in a lucky draw, and interact with 30 tourism-related businesses, such as Thai restaurants, travel agencies, and airlines offering exclusive travel deals and discounted fares.

With an emphasis on sustainability, the fair utilized biodegradable materials for food and beverage servings and implemented effective waste management practices, aligning with TAT’s objectives for high-value, sustainable tourism. This year, TAT aims to attract 768,000 Taiwanese visitors to Thailand. By the end of July, there had been 630,332 Taiwanese arrivals, marking a 64% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
