” Peters, originally from Urbana, has been bartending for around 12 years and currently works at 3Ravens Food and Spirits in Monticello. What he said about seeing a relationship go from a first date to a marriage isn’t just a made-up example: One of Peters’ favorite memories from his time at 3Ravens has been helping to host a wedding reception for a couple whose first date was in the restaurant. He said folks should visit the restaurant and bar for its welcoming atmosphere.
“It’s nice to be in an environment that takes you as you are and will share the good and bad with you whenever you stop in,” Peters said. His go-to drink is just whiskey on the rocks, but Peters said he’s proud of 3Ravens’ old fashioneds for those who prefer a cocktail. Outside of bartending, one of Peters’ favorite activities is a weekly Dungeons & Dragons session with friends.
“It’s an excuse to hang out with them that doesn’t have a transaction involved, which is nice,” he said..
