A LUXURY tour operator whose six-day trips of Northern Wetherspoons cost nearly £10,000 for two people has included an iconic drinking hole in North Yorkshire. West Midlands-based MyUKTour has launched two holidays based around one of Britain’s most famous pub chains, with the Winter Gardens in Harrogate, constituting the penultimate stop on the company’s northern tour. The tour, which costs £9,575 for two adults begins in Cumbria and finishes in Newcastle, and includes 4-5-star accommodation, entrance fees to various attractions along the way, with guests transported in a private luxury vehicle and chauffeur.
The Northern tour starts off in Keswick, including a visit to its Wetherspoons, a former police station and magistrates court now known as The Chief Justice of the Common Pleas. The following day’s ‘spoons visit is to The Velvet Coaster on Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The third day sees a stop at the North Western Wetherspoons in Liverpool.
Day four sees a visit to Manchester and a visit to the Moon Under Water, a former cinema. Day five includes The Winter Gardens in Harrogate, which opened in 2004 and is renowned for its impressive Victorian architecture, . It also features a stunning glass roof, imposing stone columns, and luxurious imperial marble.
The pub’s famous staircase was recently awarded the coveted title of “Spoons’ best staircase”. The 19th century the building was originally part of the Royal Baths and is noted as one of the most visually impressive venues in the JD Wetherspoon franchise. The final and sixth day sees last day sees a tour of Nidderdale, then the North Yorkshire moors before ending up in Newcastle, at the Sir William de Wessyngton, which was recently awarded the title of “Cheapest Spoons in the North”.
