Cantwell remained a key man heading into his first full season as a Rangers player and was part of the side that won the League Cup a year ago . But his relationship with Philippe Clement , who had replaced Beale as manager in October, appeared a strained one.

However, Cantwell continued to play a key role throughout the campaign. But as it turned out, it would be his ONLY full season as a Rangers player.
