Meet The Parents Celebrity Race Across the World ​The Repair Shop ​Call My Agent! Planning a night on the couch? Here are today’s top TV and streaming picks: Celebrity Race Across the World BBC One, 9pm This week’s TV schedules are perhaps more celebrity-laden than ever, certainly when it comes to factual shows. Returning to our screens for new series are Celebrity MasterChef and Who Do You Think You Are? as well as this star-studded programme. Tim Harcourt, from production company Studio Lambert, says: “After the phenomenally successful run of the first celebrity series – and more recently the fourth run of the regular series – we can’t wait to bring audiences along with us to the huge South American continent and its jaw-dropping scenery, in a race which will push our celebrities and their loved ones to their absolute limits.

” Celebrity Race Across the World Broadcaster Alex Beresford and his dad Noel won the first season, which involved a journey, using limited resources, from Marrakech in Morocco to Tromsø, Norway. This time, as Harcourt alludes to, the going is arguably more difficult – it begins in Belém, Northern Brazil, which is known as the gateway to the Amazon, and takes in five checkpoints along a 12,500km route that ends in the Andes at Frutillar in Southern Chile. TV presenter Jeff Brazier and his son, Freddie; actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen; broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy, and BBC Radio 2 DJ Scott Mills and his fiancé (now husband), Sam, are those taking part, and we can’t wait to see how they get on.



Uefa Super Cup RTÉ2, 7.30pm Champions League winners Real Madrid take on Europa League title holders Atalanta at the National Stadium in Warsaw. Real will start as favourites, having won the trophy five times in the past; their Italian opponents are making their first appearance in the fixture.

​The Repair Shop ​The Repair Shop BBC One, 8pm Woodworker Will Kirk tries to breathe new life into a bed-turned-bench and luthier Julyan Wallis restores a handmade guitar. Plus, horologist Steve Fletcher hopes he can mend a limited edition Etch-a-Sketch, while his sister Suzie takes care of a taxi badge that’s seen better days. Best Interests RTÉ2, 10.

30pm Originally shown on BBC One last summer, this thought-provoking drama stars Sharon Horgan and Michael Sheen as parents torn apart by a difficult decision concerning their teenage daughter’s treatment after her health begins to seriously deteriorate. ​Call My Agent! ​Call My Agent! TG4, 10.30pm Oscar-winning actor Juliette Binoche is the final episode’s guest star.

In fact, The Great British Bake Off is so popular Stateside that the show even got its own “bit” on The Simpsons .

Featuring a remarkably posh depiction of Paul Hollywod, Itchy and Scratchy attempt to create the “Piccadilly Jubilee Persnickety Cake” — before Itchy force-feeds Scratchy a vat of yeast. But I digress. Now, armed with all the bunting and brightly coloured appliances producers can muster, 10 award-winning pastry masters from across the US compete in the biggest blue-ribbon bake-off yet.

Only, they get much more than a ribbon; they also get the chance to pocket $100,000 (take note, Channel 4). White House pastry chef Bill Yosses and award-winning artisan baker Bryan Ford serve alongside head judge Sandra Lee. Trying his hand at presenting, we have American pie enthusiast Jason Biggs.

Inside The Mind of a Dog Netflix, streaming now “Food? Fun? Friend?” All things one can assume dogs would say if we could understand them. Although, when you think about how emotionally involved dogs are with their humans, (they can literally smell our stress), they’d probably spend a lot of time asking “Are you OK?” Rob Lowe narrates how dogs were first drawn to humans by the “yummy garbage” left by cavemen and explores whether they truly love us as much as we believe. The Mallorca Files The Mallorca Files Prime Video, streaming now In season three, the sun-drenched island of Mallorca is the backdrop to yet more high-stakes adventures, treasure hunts, arson, kidnappings, murders, plus Max and Miranda’s tensions.

Fuchsia Libre Netflix, streaming now While a professional wrestler fights to make a name for himself in the ring, he grapples with telling his illiberal father the truth about his sexual orientation. Consider it Cassandro (recently released and starring Gael García Bernal) but based in the Philippines. The Instigators The Instigators AppleTV+, streaming now Matt Damon swaps out Ben Affleck for brother Casey for this new heist movie directed by Doug Liman ( The Bourne Identity , plus Mr & Mrs Smith ).

It sounds slicker than it is. Matt Rife: Lucid Netflix, streaming now In Netflix’s first “crowd work special”, Matt Rife gets personal with an “unpredictable” US audience to riff on all things dreams. For the uninitiated, crowd work is what Tommy Tiernan has been doing for years.

​Daughters Daughters Netflix, streaming now This poignant number, directed by Natalie Rae and social change advocate Angela Patton, chronicles an eight-year journey. The documentary follows four girls as they prepare for a daddy-daughter dance with their incarcerated dads. Worst Ex Ever Netflix, streaming now It was only a matter of time before the makers of Worst Roommate Ever came across with a Worst Ex offering.

Featuring testimonials, bodycam footage and the usual animated reenactments, these true stories underscore the unsettling reality that we never truly know anyone. ​Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise Disney+, streaming now If you ever wondered what a global-level Made In Chelsea on ’roids avec tropical sun would look like, this is it. A group of uber-rich and on-the-rise locals, plus a flurry of ex-pats, attempt to navigate the Cayman Curse; anyone who moves to the island with their significant other is doomed to divorce.
