Rae also revealed that her fertility doctor planned to "shut down" part of her brain in order to encourage egg production Shauna Rae/Instagram wants to have children, but isn't sure her partner is ready for the next step. In a video posted to her channel on Tuesday, July 23, the alum, 25, opened up about her decision to and why she won't be asking her boyfriend to donate his sperm to make embryos. When the reality star was six months old, doctors discovered that she was born with a malignant glioma on the right side of her brain.

She was then immediately rushed into surgery and underwent chemotherapy, with doctors prioritizing saving her life over her ability to have children in the future. With her fertility in jeopardy, she revealed she was looking to freeze her eggs and explained why she opted out of making embryos when her doctor suggested them. Related: "[The doctor] talked about eggs versus embryos, and we didn't talk much on embryos because I had discussed that I'm not looking to do embryos because I don't have my set partner," she explained.

Though she's in a committed relationship and they've "been together for quite some time," Rae acknowledged that sperm donation was a big ask. "I do see them as being my future, but asking them to be the donor to my eggs and make an embryo so I can freeze it for maybe 10 years or so in the future, is a huge commitment," she continued. "So I went into the appointment basically going, 'No, I don't think they're going to be up for it.

'" Rae revealed that she hasn't "really discussed" the matter with her partner which is "scary in itself." Related: Shauna Rae/Instagram "I don't know if it's going to lead to a disruption in the relationship. I don't know if it's going to end the relationship.

I don't know if it's going to cause issues with anything like family or anything like that. There's a lot of factors with asking someone to be a donor," she added. In December 2023, the TLC star debuted her relationship with a series of photos of her beau on Instagram.

Though she let followers in on the new development in her personal life, she concealed her partner’s identity with cleverly placed emojis on top of their face. “So I’ve been keeping a secret..

.for awhile actually,” she began. “❤️ all you really need to know is they make me happy and I don’t know if I’d be as far in my goals without them.

” “Your welcome to your opinion but if it’s not supportive you can discuss elsewhere,” she continued. “Any hate towards my partner is hate towards me and I don’t tolerate that. I support each and every one of you and I ask for that respect back.

❤️❤️❤️ Much love y’all! Stay amazing, beautiful, and positive! ❤️❤️❤️.” Related: Elsewhere in her video, Rae revealed that her fertility doctor planned to use unconventional but "cool" methods to encourage egg production given her medical history. In addition to taking "high dose meds," Rae said that she'd be "what he described as brain dead.

" "Basically, they're going to shut down my brain, or part of my brain that produces the egg releasing process to produce more eggs to be released," she explained, adding that her doctor suggested she refrain from filming or working. "It's really cool," she continued, recalling how she felt "brain numb" upon hearing the news and having further conversations about the procedure. "This doctor really knows their stuff, which is great, and makes me feel really comfortable with them, but I'm also still scared.
