Dune star Timothée Chalamet shocked his fans in New York when he made a surprise appearance at his own look-alike contest. The actor, who first came to fame in Luca Guadagnino's Call Me by Your Name even posed for photos with his dopplegangers at the event. The event, however, even saw an arrest.

As per a report in The Hollywood Reporter, which cited The Associated Press, there was a general sense of chaos surrounding the event, with fans even mistaking look-alikes for the real actor. The event saw most of the actor's dopplegangers dress as either Willy Wonka or Paul Atreides from Dune. As per the report, the contest had been promoted through flyers around New York and was part of a series of doppelgänger events organised by YouTuber Anthony Po, offering a $50 prize for the winner.

Participants were interviewed onstage about their aspirations involving Kylie Jenner, the rumored girlfriend of Timothée Chalamet, as well as their proficiency in French (since the Little Women star is bilingual). Ultimately, Miles Mitchell, who was dressed as Willy Wonka, took home the first-place prize. As per a report in Variety, Chalamet managed to sneak his way through the crowd, while hiding behind a mask and a baseball hat, before creeping up to two lookalikes, prompting shrieks across the event area.

The event also saw one person getting arrested, wrote THR. In a conversation with AP, a fan of the actor, Lauren Klas revealed that what made a good Chalamet was "all in the nose," as wel.
