Fans lashed out at senior India batter Virat Kohli after he recorded yet another flop show during the visitors' first innings of the 3rd Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane. New Delhi: Team India star Virat Kohli was heavily criticised by fans after another dismal outing in India’s first innings of the ongoing 3rd Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane on Sunday. Kohli was once again dismissed cheaply in what was an underwhelming dismissal for the star batter on Day 3 of the Test match.
Kohli came out to bat at no.4 with India reeling at 6/2 having lost opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill cheaply in quick succession. Expectations were high from the senior batter, who was expected to build a partnership with KL Rahul and steady the ship for India.
However, much to the disappointment of Indian fans, Kohli failed to deliver once again under pressure. Kohli was dismissed by pacer Josh Hazlewood after managing only 3 runs off 16 balls. He edged an outside off delivery from the pacer and was caught by wicket-keeper Alex Carey.
It was a familiar dismissal for the star Indian batter, who once again chased a delivery nearly on the sixth stump line and ended up getting a thick edge after a mistimed drive. Kohli was left dejected as he walked back after another failure in the series. The dismissal didn’t go down well with fans, who bashed the star batter left right and centre for failing to rectify the mistakes in batting and consistently getting out in sim.
