The actress, 64 who is starring with Julianne Moore , also 64, in The Room Next Door , told Elle , 'I've always intended that each film would be my final one.' The British actress stars as a war correspondent diagnosed with stage three cancer in the drama directed and co-written by Pedro Almodóvar. Her character, Martha, reconnects with Moore's Ingrid after years apart with a special request as she approaches death.
The movie won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and is considered a serious contender for the upcoming Hollywood awards season. Swinton explained why she approaches each project as her last. 'It was not wanting to jinx anything because I have had such fun from start to finish,' she told the outlet.
