Dancehall diva Tifa says she is head over heels in love with a former flame who, she believes, could be her soulmate. The Spell It Out artiste has been dropping a series of tantalising posts featuring her mystery man, but always keeps his identity shrouded in secrecy - whether through clever camera angles or playful emojis. In an interview with THE WEEKEND STAR , Tifa revealed that her beau is an old flame who has reignited their romance.
"We met and dated many years ago! He saw one of my interviews where I said, 'There's nobody that I can look back and say, he's the one that got away' - and he's been determined to prove me wrong ever since," she shared. "He shows me every day that life is sweeter because I'm in it, and I'm his!" The Dash Out hitmaker has never been shy to talk about aspects of her personal life. In 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, she revealed that she had endured a second lengthy, self-imposed period of celibacy.
At the time, she admitted to "pleasing myself every now and again until I find the right partner". While it is unclear whether the mystery man is Tifa's first since that celibacy vow, the artiste was forthright in saying they are having "lots of sex!" "Celibacy is no more," she said. But why has the entertainer gone back to a man of her past? The answer, she says, is simple.
"I think at the time we were just both young. We both were building brands and respective empires. He was doing what men do [and] I wasn't having it.
I had a brand, image and endorsements to protect, and my main focus was Tifa," she said. "Back then, he was really good to me also. The timing just wasn't right.
It just feels right the second time around. Throughout the years we remained friends; he has always been someone that has my back," she added. "With regard to marriage, I will say where we're at is pretty serious.
He has very strong potential to be a forever," she said. "We're in love and wanna spend the rest of our lives together. So whatever comes with that, comes with that.
" The Say Yes artiste grabbed headline earlier this year following the circulation of leaked photos from a photo shoot in which parts of her lower anatomy were inadvertently exposed. Some observers have argued that the release of those photos and the emergence of the mystery man is a publicity stunt. Tifa, though, has ignored those suggestions.
She said the secrecy around her Mr Right is not just a personal choice, but part of a playful challenge. "It's been a joke between him and my family that I'd never post a man, even if he went missing! So I accepted the challenge on my terms. He finds it hilarious, and I'm having fun with my 'emoji man'!" Tifa laughed.
While Tifa enjoys the thrill of keeping her love life private, she remains firm about protecting her peace. "I've always been private with relationships. People pretend, and you never know who wants Latifa the person versus Tifa the artiste.
I protect my heart and my peace," she said. "I'll reveal him when the time is right. For now, I'm just enjoying my time with my emoji man!".
