Article content Fringe sounds : Besides the 216 shows of various spots and stripes across 38 venues at this year’s Find Your Fringe, don’t forget about all the nightly music on the stage in Wilbert McIntyre — what most people still call “Gazebo” — Park. The festival’s Music Series is a partnership between our friends at CKUA, and new this year is Music Yukon, bringing down six acts from the north. Friday at 9 p.
m. is the easygoing rock of Rosina Cove, with pop/R&B singer Téa G at 10 p.m.
Saturday, local superband Funk the Matriarchy hits the stage at 9 p.m., and hip-hop artist Mouraine is at 10 p.
m. On Sunday, same time slots, Afro-Cuban act Montuno West, with folk-rock Major Love following. Starting earlier at 5 p.
m., the Yukon acts — including Ellorie McKnight, Bria Rose N’ Thorns and Elijah Bekk — play Monday through Wednesday. Then, check out sweet Caylie G at 9 p.

Monday-Wednesday at McIntyre Park (8331 104 St.), by donation Land and Plant Medicine Walk : Looking ahead to Saturday, First Nations elders Joe Cardinal and Emiline Roan present a hands-on instructional walk, teaching healing properties and preparation of boreal forest plants. Afterwards on the beautiful land and outdoor art gallery near Colinton, ol’-timey country singer Blue Coyote and singer-songwriters Sheldon Lizotte and Kip Lily will perform on the quaint school bus stage.
