Three people were taken to hospital after a chemical incident. Sussex Police attended an address in Grand Parade, Brighton , at around 11pm yesterday, August 23, where a chemical incident involving ammonia was reported. East Sussex Fire and Rescue and South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended the scene and carried out an evacuation of the building.

READ MORE: Man dies in crash with tractor in Station Road, Petworth A 32-year-old man from Brighton, one of the above, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, criminal damage and assault of an emergency worker. He has been discharged from hospital and remains in custody.
The other man and woman remain in hospital although their injuries are not believed to be serious. A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “The area was made safe by emergency service crews and there is not believed to be any wider risk to the public.
“Anyone with information about what happened is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 1526 of 23/08.”.
