The award is given to establishments that have earned positive traveller reviews and ratings over the past year and have delivered "fantastic experiences to travellers around the globe." Northumberland Arms is known for its food offerings, which include pub classics, street food, and sandwiches.

Although Lovage Jesmond is relatively new to the restaurant scene, it has made a significant impact since it opened two years ago under the leadership of renowned chef and co-owner Kleo Tabaku. Last year, it was included in the Michelin Guide and in summer, it was awarded a prestigious AA rosette for "culinary excellence."
