Pune: Three men damaged 15 vehicles in Warje. The Warje police are searching for the three individuals who vandalized vehicles in the Gokul Pathar area of Warje between 3am and 5am on Sunday. The incident came to light around 5am when local residents, heading out for their morning walks, discovered the damage.
Inspector Nilesh Badakh of the Warje police told TOI, "We recovered footage from two CCTV cameras, which showed the three men walking towards the Warje hill and throwing stones at vehicles parked along the public road." "We are still in the process of identifying them, but we have received some information about their whereabouts. All the vehicles belong to lower middle-class families and include those used by schools or as public service vehicles", Badakh added.
The men damaged the front windshields of trucks, autorickshaws, and cars owned by local residents. Police found stones, used in the vandalism, inside some of the affected vehicles. The trio picked up the stones from the roadside areas.
The motive for the damage remains unclear, and police teams have been formed to track down the suspects. "The area is usually peaceful, and there have been no recent disputes between local groups of boys. We suspect they may have vandalized the vehicles for fun, but we can only confirm this after their arrest," the inspector said.
