Acclaimed TV actor Rajesh Kumar who has enthralled the audience with his performances in popular TV series such as Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Yeh Meri Family, Baa Bahoo aur Baby, opened up about his financial struggles and entrepreneurial journey in an interview with Siddhart Kannan. The 49 year old actor who started his career in acting with Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka (1999-2001), made his first appearance in films with Men Will Be Men in 2011. During the interview, Rajesh Kumar stated that he had started a business of being a family farmer wherein some of his friends became his clients during the early stage of the startup.

While there was a “long list of people” who initially lauded his startup as amazing but later ignored it. Without calling out names, Kumar said that these were the people with whom he had shared screen space with. As the startup tanked, he was later forced to sell vegetables outside his son’s school.



His son who was in third grade requested his teachers to buy veggies from him. The young lad’s classmates went to different classes and informed the students about Kumar’s vegetable shop outside the school. However the actor incurred a heavy loss of over 12-15 lakh which compiled over his previous debt of Rs 1 crore.
