Martin Lewis was so touched by a This Morning segment on grief that he interrupted the hosts to share his own experiences. Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley had been chatting to agony aunt Dear Deidre and tennis star Annabel Croft about a phone in they would be hosting on those suffering grief as a family. Having listened to the inspiring words from sportswoman Annabel, who lost her husband Mel Coleman, suddenly and just weeks after he was diagnosed with cancer, Martin had his own thoughts to share after his mum was tragically killed 40 years ago.
When he was just age 11, his mother Susan Lewis was tragically killed following a horse riding collision with a lorry. Knowing the pain and exactly how it felt to miss a loved one, he said: "Can I just say on that, that I know what you're talking about." He went on to say: "It's 40 years since my mum was killed and it's still just as raw 40 years later, it doesn't have to be near, and the one thing I always say because I was in tears on the anniversary this year, is don't feel guilty about feeling happy.
When people are feeling grief they have a happy moment and then they feel guilty and then they stop themselves. Whenever you have a chance to be happy even if you're in grief grab it." This is a breaking showbiz story and is being constantly updated.
