This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were snubbed from the Best Presenters category for the National Television Awards (NTAs) . Cat and Ben became the main hosts of the daytime programme in March after long-running presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby stepped down from their positions last year. Before Cat and Ben were announced as hosts, This Morning had a rotation of presenters fronting the show.

The likes of Alison Hammond , Josie Gibson , Craig Doyle and Dermot O'Leary became fan-favourites throughout the months without permanent hosts. This Morning was still nominated in the Daytime category alongside Deal or No Deal, Loose Women , The Chase and The Repair Shop. However, Cat and Ben were snubbed in the Best Presenter category.

The nominations in the category include Alison, Ant and Dec, Bradley Walsh, Claudia Winkleman and Stacey Solomon . Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have famously won the award for the last 22 years. It comes several months after it was reported that This Morning's viewing figures drastically dropped .

Although the new hosts saw over a million tune in for their first day, rating quickly dipped over the next two months. In May, the peak viewing figures fell to 589,000 - with an average of 486,000, according to The Sun. Its rival BBC show Morning Live has been raking in between one million and 1.

4 million viewers. “Nobody at This Morning thought viewing figures would dip beneath the landmark low of half a million," a source claimed to the publication. "The arrival of Ben and Cat was supposed to spark a resurgence and hopefully keep the ratings above the million mark.

But within a couple of weeks it became apparent they hadn’t done the trick while their nemesis Morning Live stayed strong." They claimed the future of the show could be in doubt as "it’s difficult to justify the huge costs of making a live, daily show". A spokesperson for ITV told The Mirror: "This Morning continues to reach over 4 million viewers a week and remains one of the most streamed programmes on ITVX in 2024.

The award winning show has never had a better connection with viewers; with 11 million followers across This Morning social media platforms and almost 130 million video views of This Morning content each month, reaching an average of 62 million unique social media accounts every month." New host Ben recently addressed the ratings dip. He was asked if he was “disappointed” about the ratings and told Bella magazine: “It is not something I really worry about right now.

From our perspective, we just want to make the best show we can possibly make. The reaction we have had has been brilliant and I am loving it.” Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .
