Alison, who recently covered for Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard during their summer break, revealed plans for her mini vacation under the sun. Dermot kicked things off by saying: "It's quite sad that tomorrow is going to be our last show for some time", to which Alison hastily added: "I know, I know, my last day.
I'm going on holiday bubs, it's time!" She later cheekily remarked: "Alison needs a break", to which Dermot responded: "We all need a break," reports the Mirror. Proving ever playful, Alison couldn't resist giving her haters a little nudge, stating to the camera: "Even YOU need a break from me." Meanwhile, Twitter was set alight with discussions about Alison's departure.
One person queried: "Is Alison leaving for good?", and another tweeted: "It's Alison's last day on #ThisMorning before she goes on a break!" Ever since pairing up with X Factor star Dermot, they've been creating quite the stir as the mischievous duo of morning television. In an unexpected turn of events on Wednesday, Dermot stunned viewers when he bluntly told Alison to "shut up." The comedic pair were discussing their health and blood pressure during a segment just before the ad-break when Dermot's exasperation seemed to get the better of him after a live blood pressure test.
Alison couldn't help but tease Dermot about his age which resulted in the presenter losing his cool slightly. In gentle inquiry Alison said: "Are you okay?", to which she got a clipped comeback from Dermot who snapped: "Shut up! It's the second one, he said it'll come right down", clearly taken aback by his earlier blood pressure readings. The playful exchange intensified when, in an attempt to wind him up further, Alison offered Dermot a seat, this stirred Dermot to jest along before they continued with the show.
"Do you want me to get you a chair?" she hinted: "I want to make sure you're alright because you are getting on a little bit. You're okay, don't worry." A quick retort came from Dermot who made a sarcastic comment: "I can't imagine where my stress is coming from.
I can't imagine!" Alison felt obliged to explain to viewers: "We were a little worried so we did another blood test. We did a blood pressure test. While mine was 120 over 70, which is like an athlete, yours was, went down 20, went to 145, which is a little bit high.
