The star, who is a regular on This Morning , posted from his hospital bed after being rushed to A&E on Monday 5 August. He said to his followers: "I'm having a bit of a tough time.

I've really injured my back and can't stand up at the moment. Currently I’m in a lot of pain and have spent the night in AandE. The staff have been amazing, so attentive and kind as I received pain medication, examinations and soon an MRI for the worst back pain I’ve ever experienced in my life.

" "This is not a pity party or a sympathy request, rather a grateful post for the kindness and humanity I’ve witnessed and experienced since my admission to hospital," he said. "After watching the 10 o’clock news from my hospital bed last night it pained me (even more than my current state!) to see all the rioting going on at the moment here in the UK." Dr Scott added: "And now to my MRI.

Thanks to @nhsengland and all the amazing staff." Please check back regularly for the latest on this developing story as it is updated in real time here .
