They say dogs are a man’s best friend – and one luxury brand has taken that age-old ethos to the next level by launching a perfume for pooches. Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has joined the swathes of luxury retailers who have released luxury pet ranges – and naturally, it doesn’t come cheap. Named after designer Domenico Dolce ’s eternally loyal companion, Fefè, the perfume is described as a ‘gentle and delicate scent crafted for a playful beauty routine.
’ Priced at £83, owners can spray it either directly onto their hands or a dog brush, combing it down their fur from the middle to the tail to give them a ‘moment of scented pampering.’ Featuring scents of ylang-ylang, musk and sandalwood, it’s packaged inside a green glass bottle complete with a 24-carat gold-plated paw for added class. Naturally, the internet was quick to comment on the product – and not everyone was impressed.
‘Dogs much prefer Eau de Fox or Dead Seagull,’ joked @tweatirs on X, formerly Twitter. ‘Honestly, my dog is more than happy with fox poo. Anything else would be a disappointment for him,’ added @Bridgeanne, while @rossstevens_uk mused whether it would ‘come in cow poo smell,’ since his friend’s dog ‘loves it so much.
’ Dolce & Gabbana isn’t the only brand to have ventured into the realms of fancy pet ranges. Kiehl’s offers a cuddly-coat cleansing spritz, retailing at £18 a pop. Incorporating chamomile flower extract and glycerin, it promises a .
