You know you're getting older when you start to find more joy in quality homeware than you ever thought possible. When I was in my 20s, I can't honestly say I gave the quality of my bedding much, if any, thought. But recently, I came across the from Dunelm's The Edited Life collection.

Perusing the reviews, I was impressed by the number of shoppers who praised the "high quality" feel of the fabric. The Pensford Stripe Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set is billed by Dunelm as a "contemporary blend of comfort and style to redefine your bedroom decor". Crafted from 100% cotton, Dunelm claims this set offers a "sumptuously soft touch, ensuring a restful night's sleep.

" "The modern striped design adds a touch of sophistication, creating a sleek and timeless aesthetic for your sleep space. Each set includes matching pillowcase(s) with a secure button closure, ensuring your duvet stays in place for an uninterrupted night of relaxation," according to the Dunelm listing. The set comes in two colourways - or .

I opted for the olive green to go with the natural aesthetic we've gone for in our bedroom. The sentiment of the Edited Life collection also struck a chord for me - I'm not after thin, trending products with designs that will date the place in a few months, but simple, classic designs made from that is made to last. According to the Dunelm website, "The Edited Life introduces a new era of thoughtfulness in the home, with an understated collection of pieces chosen for their simple beauty, quality craftsmanship and innate usefulness that will last beyond any trend.

Having it all is no longer the goal; having enough, and it being just right, is." I couldn't agree more. At a time when every penny counts, investing in made-to-last products isn't just a more sustainable choice for our planet, but our bank balance.

And that's what the appears to offer - at £46 for a kingsize set, there are definitely more budget-friendly options out there, but I'm yet to come across any made from a material that feels this sturdy. I can't speak to the longevity yet, having only bought the set a month ago, but I've washed and tumble-dried it twice and it is holding up very well so far. The fabric has a , feel to it that suggests it will last for a long time.

While I love the quality and feel of the bedding, it is worth noting that the actual colour of the product is a few shades lighter than it appears to be in the photos - I'd say it's closer to a sage green than olive. This difference is more stark as I ordered an which is much darker in contrast. That being said, I've had some of the best nights of sleep since buying this bedding - while heavy, it is so breathable and great to keep cool during hot .

This is why I'm looking to grab a set in - on payday. The is available from £32 for a single bed, up to £52 for super kingsize at Dunelm. Alternatively, Amazon stocks this gorgeous in green or beige stripes, currently £10 off at £25.
