Abhishek Bachchan made his debut in the entertainment industry in 2000 with the film Refugee. Two of his films, Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa and Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, also released in the same year. All of them flopped commercially at the box office.

In Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, the director Raj Kanwar had roped in the actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the female lead. He even roped in Salman Khan to play a cameo role in this film. Despite trying all the tactics, Raj Kanwar failed to make the film a hit amongst the audience.

Produced on a budget of Rs 9 crore, this film could only rake in Rs 16.30 crore at the box office. This film starred a stellar star cast of actors like Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor, and Sushma Seth.

Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke is a remake of the 1995 Hollywood film A Walk in The Clouds, which itself is a remake of the 1942 Italian film Quattro Passi Fra Le Nuvole (Four Steps in the Clouds). Despite the failure of Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke at the box office, its songs were a hit and are still loved by the audience. One of those tracks is the Ek Haseen Ladki sung by Anuradha Paudwal and Babul Supriyo.

Sameer penned the lyrics of this melodious track, composed by the hit duo Jatin Lalit. Another track from this film that garnered accolades from the audience is the Koi Taza Hawa sung again by Anuradha Paudwal and Babul Supriyo. Sameer wrote the lyrics while Jatin Lalit scored the film’s music.

Abhishek Bachchan is currently looking forward to his upcoming film with the National award winning director Shoojit Sircar. The yet-to-be-titled film is lined up for release at the cinema halls on November 15, 2024. After Piku, Shoojit Sircar brings another touching story of a father-daughter relationship.

This is the first time Shoojit Sircar and Abhishek Bachchan will be collaborating. The Piku director shared a video on Instagram featuring Abhishek Bachchan sitting with a little girl on a bench with mountains in the backdrop. A post shared by Rising Sun Films (@filmsrisingsun) Pritesh Shah has written this film.
