21 at the Outer Harbor. Here is a look at some of the activities, events and concerts taking place this week. Music is Art.



11 a.m. to 11 p.

m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at Terminal B, Lakeside Lawn and the Outer Harbor.

Robby Takac's 22nd annual festival is a free community celebration of music, arts, dance, sports and so much more. The move this year to the Outer Harbor along Fuhrmann Boulevard seems perfect and much needed to hold everything this large, interactive event offers. Not only will there be performances at the new Terminal B stage, music and other activities will be spaced throughout the sprawling Lakeside Lawn and the Outer Harbor green space.

With more than 150 bands/musical arts and 100 DJs, it’s impossible to list all of the performances. Let’s put it this way: There are 19 stages with an eclectic array of talent with some focusing on specific musical styles including a Blues/Americana stage, Dance/Beats stage, three spots dedicated to buskers, and others for DJ Classics, hip-hop, a skate park stage and a kids/bike park stage. Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept.

21 in Kleinhans Music Hall. The BPO hosts this free event, along with the Hispanic Heritage Council, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Entertainment starts at 12:30 p.

m. with Fanny Salsa Dance, followed by Brazil 716 with Stephen Guerra, Son BoriKua with Los Artistas del Barrio Buffalo, Amor and Heritage Traditional Dance Company, La Marimba and Buffalo Tango Orkest. Food vendors include Tangos 716 and Sabor Criollo y mas and there will be merch vendors.

Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Pops Series. Season opener with Mandy Gonzalez. 7:30 p.

m. Saturday, Sept. 21 in Kleinhans Music Hall.

Broadway star Mandy Gonzalez, who has appeared in such popular musicals as “Hamilton” and “Wicked,” opens the BPO Pops where she will sing favorite songs including “Fearless,” written for her by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The program will be conducted by Gonzalo Farias and include the Academy of Theatre Arts Singers. The BPO will also perform orchestral favorites from such musicals as “Beauty and the Beast” and “Encanto.

” BurchFest. Starts at various times on Sept. 21 at throughout West Seneca .

This is the second year for BurchFest, which celebrates the life and legacy of artist and former West Seneca resident Charles Burchfield and his family while also promoting the Charles Burchfield Gardenville District. So while there will be activities like touring the recently renovated studio at the Charles Burchfield Home & Studio (3574 Clinton St.) and seeing the new Burchfield Room at Charles Burchfield Nature & Art Center & Burchfield Park (2001 Union Road), activities also include an open house at Fourteen Holy Helpers Church (1345 Indian Church Road), a display of watercolors by “Martha Burchfield Richter: Works from the Louise Schoene Collection” curated by Dr.

Gerald Mead at the WNY Federal Credit Union (1937 Union Road), and visits to West Seneca’s oldest home, Christian Metz House (12 School St.). Members of the West Seneca Art Society will be plein air painting and sketching on the grounds; the park will be open until dusk.

Other activities are at the West Seneca Public Library, Rusty Nickel Brewing Company and St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (3512 Clinton St.) with local artists, crafters and other activities.

Most activities start at 10 or 11 a.m. Explore Buffalo will host a Gardenville Walking Tour at 11 a.

10 a.m. to 4 p.

m. Sept. 21 in Reinstein Woods, 93 Honorine Drive, Cheektowaga.

Enjoy the outdoors at this 24th annual festival with guided walks, animals, exhibits, a scavenger hunt, crafts, interactive activities and a visit from Smokey Bear. Visit with more than 20 nature and environmental organizations including Penn Dixie Fossil Park, WNY Young Birder Club and the U.S.

Fish and Wildlife Service. Hamburg Oktoberfest. 5:30 to 10 p.

m. Sept. 20 and 2 to 11 p.

m. Sept. 21 at Memorial Park, 59 Lake St.

, Hamburg. Fill up on German beer and food favorites like bratwurst and spaetzel and listen to live music by bands including South City Band and Watch Your Step. There will be a stein hoisting competition and a new sausage eating contest.

Apples & Honey: A JCC Fall Festival. Noon to 3 p.m.

Sept. 22 at the Irving M. Shuman Campgrounds, 2640 North Forest Road, Getzville.

Visit with alpacas, play in the bounce houses, paint pumpkins and take a hayride at this family event. There will be a zip line and rock climbing, too, and you can shop from more than 20 vendors. A barbecue fundraiser (dine-in or take out) includes choices of Wiedner chicken, kosher chicken and vegetarian falafel plate.

Mighty Wurlitzer Silent Film with Clark Wilson. 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda.

The 1920 silent film “The Mark of Zorro” will get the full musical treatment like it would have when it originally played in grand movie houses more than a century ago. The swashbuckling Douglas Fairbanks film will have music by Clark Wilson, who has performed silent film accompaniment at the Chautauqua Institution, the Fox Theatre for the Atlanta premiere of the restored “Metropolis” and at the San Francisco Silent Film Festival. He has also scored movies for Kino International for commercial release.
