While Prague isn't quite as well-visited as other European cities like Paris and Rome, it's certainly a spot that deserves a place on your itinerary. Well-located in Central Europe , it's a short train ride away from Vienna, Berlin and Munich, and is a lot more budget-friendly than other parts of the continent. Obviously places like the Old Town, astronomical clock, Charles Bridge, and Prague Castle will be on your list.

The bustling market has been open for nearly 800 years, and sells everything under the sun, including fresh produce, baked goods, clothing and knick-knacks. Prague has many beer gardens and outdoor bars, but Letna is probably one of the best.

Perched on a hill above the river, this is an ideal spot to chill out with a beer at sunset. If you're there in the colder months, pick up a cup of mulled wine to keep you warm as the sun goes down. But even if you're not, the museum is a fun an interesting look at the past which will give some context to your stay in Prague. The museum offers a vivid view of the communist era, with plenty of videos, objects and various exhibits to keep your interest. This peaceful hillside park has, hands-down, the best views of Prague.

Whether you walk up or take the handy funicular, it's a great spot to spend a low-key afternoon.  Once you're up there, there is sprawling parkland, churches, an astronomy building and even a mini Eiffel Tower recreation. While strolling beside the river is nice, if you're blessed with particularly good weather you should make the most of it.

 Head to Slavonic Island (accessible by bridge from the banks) to rent a paddle boat, pack some snacks, and off you go.  If you prefer to stay on dry land, there are a ton of pop-up bars along the river in the warmer months where you can enjoy the sunshine.  Prague is home to several paternosters, which are open-door elevators that run constantly.

It sounds kinda wacky, but you jump on and it takes you up or down, then you just jump off at your floor. The most famous one in the city is in Prague City Hall, and you've probably seen it featured in TikTok videos about the city. But you'd be better off heading to Lucerna Palace, where the paternoster will whisk you up to a roof terrace that's a great spot for a cocktail.
