and SUGARFISH might be 'beefing.' The host took to his on July 22 to share a screenshot of a DM exchange between him and the SUGARFISH. The fine-dining, omakase-only sushi bar responded to Justin's Instagram story where he wrote underneath a picture of his serious face about how he was "getting reports from people" that SUGARFISH did serve rice to select customers.

He tagged the restaurant in his Story. SUGARFISH messaged: "Hi Jake, We allow side orders for children (dine-in only) because some are not yet eating sushi, and we think that feeding hungry children is a good thing for everyone's dining experience. We look forwards to seeing you soon.

" The 24-year-old replied back to SUGARFISH with, "F--- are we beefing" and captioned his post: "@sugarfishbynozawa it’s one side of rice." SUGARFISH responded back "Never" with one white heart emoji and one blue heart emoji. Jake continued, by asking them to promise that they weren't beefing because he's "feeling really awkward.

" Then he asked then to give him rice just this once as he implored, he offered to write them a poem. The exchanged continued with SUGARFISH only responding once to Jake's first message instead of his others:"We promise." The California native answered back, stating they're "avoiding the question" but said he "totally respect that it's probably not your decision" about the rice.

He double downed on how "important" this request was to him. The sushi establishment sent a cheeky little poem in response: "Roses are red / Violets are blue / SUGARFISH rice is only for kids / Not for you." Jake replied he was "f---king speechless" by their poem and wrote his own: "Give me the rice / Please hand it over / Is there a special spice / Your face is anything but poker.

" Then when he got no response, he send another four-lined poem about being left on read: "Are you leaving me on read / Is that what you do? / Is it what I said? / This is too bad to be true." After that, SUGARFISH responded in all caps: "DON'T THINK . JUST EAT.

TRUST ME" to which Jake said: "R U just stating menu items now." SUGARFISH is a sushi establishment that is based on Chef Nozawa’s style of sushi. There is eleven locations in California and six in New York City.

The parent brand of SUGARFISH also owns notable restaurants KazuNori and Nozawa Bar. The lavish dining spot doesn't take reservations. On their FAQ section of their website, SUGARFISH addressed the issue about ordering a bowl of rice.

The explanation on the FAQ was similar to what they wrote to the TikTok star. But the FAQ went a little futher such as the process of how they made their rice and why they couldn't allow an order of rice for anyone else except children. "Our rice is a very important component of the SUGARFISH experience.

We make our rice in very small batches, and in order to deliver Nozawa’s signature warm rice," the business began. "We make a fresh batch at least every 30 minutes, discarding any unused rice from the prior batch. If we allow all guests to order extra rice, it will slow our kitchen down and cause other guests to have to wait for their food.

" "We allow side orders of rice for children (dine-in only) because some are not yet eating sushi, and we think that feeding hungry children is a good thing for everyone’s dining experience." SUGARFISH concluded (the same bit they told Jake)..
