MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s upscale restaurant ‘Bastian’ in Dadar is under radar. The posh hotel where celebrity weddings take place is also a favorite destination of celebrities’ children. Reports said that a theft has taken place on the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square in Dadar West, Mumbai.
A luxury BMW Z4 valued at Rs 80 lakh was stolen from the restaurant’s parking lot. The incident happened when the owner of the car was having food in the restaurant after handing over the keys to valet parking. The 34-year-old Ruhan Firoz Khan, construction entrepreneur in Bandra, along with his friends reached the hotel around 1 am on Sunday.
After the restaurant closed, Ruhan asked the employees to retrieve his car but was shocked to hear that it has gone missing. The CCTV visuals later confirmed that the vehicle was stolen around 2 am by two individuals arriving in a Jeep Compass. They unlocked the vehicle using advance hacking techniques and drove away.
The police have registered a case on the owner’s complaint. The restaurant was opened in 2016 by Ranjeet Bindra. In 2019, Shilpa Shetty acquired 50 percent stakes in the hotel.
Bastian was later converted to a luxury hotel..
