The World Directory of Modern Military Aircraft (WDMMA) released its 2025 rankings of military aircraft sorted by country, type, and model. WDMMA's database tracks 103 countries and 129 air services. The air services total is greater than the number of countries due to multiple air fleets (e.

g.; US Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps). WDMMA says: "The 2025 global inventory of military aircraft totals 48,082" The US Air Force is rated the number one military air service out of a total of 129, and the US Navy is second.



WDMMA determines the rankings via their internally developed formula that yields a numerical score they call " TruVal Rating ." The maximum achievable rating is 242.9.
