WITH SWEEPING hills and luscious forests, Worcestershire is lacking only one thing to make it the perfect county: a coastline. Sadly the county home to countless parks, gardens and nature reserves cannot boast a single coastal path or beach and finding one worth making the journey to visit can be like finding a needle in a haystack. Beaches are often seen as a summer asset, but there are few better places to spend an autumn afternoon than walking across the damp sand with the wind blowing across you to keep you cool while you're wrapped up in a coat, hat, scarf and gloves.

Here are the highest-rated beaches on TripAdvisor a short journey from Worcestershire: Rhossili Bay A post shared by Wanderlust travel magazine (@wanderlustmag) This beach found at the western fringe of the Gower Peninsula in South Wales is one of the area's most beloved beauty spots. From its most northern point to its most southern, the beach runs for almost three miles. Rhossili Beach was named the nearest secret beach to Worcester, owing to its quiet atmosphere and spectacular views.

Aberdyfi Beach Visiting Aberdyfi Beach is just as much about the journey as it is the destination. Along the 100 mile route there are National Landscapes, scenic rivers and the Cambrian mountains, and the beauty doesn't end once you reach the coast. Aberdyfi is nestled at the heart of Cardigan Bay and offers fantastic views of the Nature reserve across the water.
