1 leaf-peeping destination for fall 2024, according to Priceline, is Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which is about an hour outside of Philadelphia and is known for its beautiful covered bridges surrounded by trees dressed in autumnal hues. Leaf peepers can see a dozen of these covered bridges on a fall driving tour in Bucks County , but leave the photography to passengers because most of them don’t have areas where you can pull of to snap your photos. Back in the 19th century, Bucks County had more than 50 covered bridges crossing the Delaware and linking towns so that they could trade the goods manufactured by their mills.

Built in 1842, the Pine Valley Bridge is the second-oldest covered bridge in the county and it’s often lit up at night. Covered Bridge Park is next to it, and is a nice spot for scenic walks. The last covered bridge in Bucks County was built in 1875.
