As the weather turns crisp and cool, it's the ideal time to lace up your walking boots, don your coat, and head out for a brisk autumnal stroll in one of Essex's numerous parks. One such park, perhaps not as well-known, is Gloucester Park in Basildon, perfect for such an outing. This expansive park boasts rolling hills and ample space for dogs (and little ones) to run around and explore.
It features a large flat area suitable for a game of football, along with various other sports courts and pitches available for use all year round. Once you've passed the sports courts, a pathway leads you into the heart of the park and towards a sizeable fishing lake. A path encircles the lake, providing a picturesque spot for a leisurely walk and some bird watching.

Despite its proximity to main roads, it's easy to feel entirely removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life outside the park, allowing you to enjoy some fresh air while listening to the birdsong. Gloucester Park is adjacent to Basildon Sporting Village, one of Essex's top leisure centres, boasting an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a vast gym, an indoor climbing wall, and an eight-court sports hall.
