You can get a good old fashioned at most bars, or make one at home, bartender Sean Jones said. At The Sitch, where Jones is a co-owner, he wants to offer a unique experience. “I want to give you a drink that you can't make at home, or like you have to come here for it,” Jones said.
The Sitch is a new bar that held its grand opening on Oct. 11 and is working to define itself in the old Marz Bar location at 1140 O St. The bar was created by Rachel McGill, who also owns the downtown restaurant Dish, and Jones, the former bartender at Dish.
Marz Bar and Dish regulars have stopped by to see the space, Jones said. Marz Bar and Gravity were both bars that occupied the space before closing. The Sitch is a sister concept to Dish, which is on the same downtown block, and offers some of the same cocktails as the restaurant.
