Streaming later this month, the new eight-part series is set to feature the hotly anticipated Siege of Eregion – a definitive battle of the franchise’s Second Age – and see Sauron continue his quest to forge more of the titular rings. Developed by showrunners J.

D. Payne and Patrick McKay, the epic prequel series takes place in the Second Age of Middle-earth’s history, thousands of years before the events of J.R.

Who is in the cast of The Rings of Power season two? The Rings of Power features a huge ensemble cast, led by Welsh Saint Maud actress Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, the Elven warrior previously played by Cate Blanchett in the films. She stars alongside Charlie Vickers in the role of Sauron, appearing in a new form as the Elf Annatar. Game of Thrones’ Robert Aramayo reprises his role as Elrond, while actor-comedian Lenny Henry returns as Harfoot leader Sadoc Burrows.

Also back for season two are Ismael Cruz Córdova as Arondir, Benjamin Walker as Gil-galad, Charles Edwards as Celebrimbor and Nazanin Boniadi as Bronwy. Rounding out the cast are Markella Kavenagh, Dylan Smith and Sara Zwangobani as the Brandyfoots and Daniel Weyman as a mysterious wizard known as the Stranger. Among the new faces joining the cast in season two are Ciarán Hinds as a dark wizard, Sam Hazeldine as Orc leader Adar and James Bond actor Rory Kinnear as Tom Bombadilm, an iconic character from the books appearing for the first time in live action.
