Tuesday, August 27, 2024 Nakheel, a key player in Dubai Holding’s real estate division, Dubai Holding Real Estate, has awarded a significant AED 810 million contract to Jan De Nul Dredging LTD for marine works on the Palm Jebel Ali project. This ambitious contract includes crucial activities such as dredging, land reclamation, beach profiling, and sand placement, all of which are integral to the construction of villas across the development’s iconic fronds. The marine works are expected to be completed within just over two years, with the first eight fronds becoming site-ready by Q1 2025, allowing for the commencement of villa infrastructure and civil works.

This contract follows Nakheel’s recent awarding of two major infrastructure projects, signaling the beginning of work on a new public access road and enhancements to the roadway and lighting systems from the mainland to Palm Jebel Ali. These developments are key components of the larger Palm Jebel Ali project, which was unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The project is poised to offer a luxurious lifestyle with an extensive range of amenities, catering to residents, families, and visitors alike.

A New Growth Corridor in Jebel Ali Palm Jebel Ali is set to become a cornerstone of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, marking the start of a new growth corridor in the Jebel Ali area. This project underscores the ongoing expansion of Dubai and is closely aligned with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which envisions sustainable and innovative urban growth. Khalid Al Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding Real Estate, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership with Jan De Nul Dredging, highlighting the company’s reputation for excellence in marine, civil construction, and environmental projects.

He emphasized that this collaboration reflects Nakheel’s commitment to accelerating progress on this transformative development. “Palm Jebel Ali is set to become a global destination that will offer residents the opportunity to experience a luxurious waterfront lifestyle with access to sweeping beachfronts and pristine waters, while setting new standards in quality living and sustainability,” said Al Malik. Phase 1 Villa Launch and Project Scope Last year, Palm Jebel Ali launched over 700 units as part of its Phase 1 frond villas, which feature eight unique styles designed to blend indoor and outdoor living in a tranquil coastal setting.

The ongoing infrastructure and marine works are crucial to the timely delivery of these homes, which are scheduled for handover by late 2026. Palm Jebel Ali, once completed, will span 13.4 kilometers and include 16 fronds and 91 kilometers of beachfront, aligning with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan’s goal of expanding public beach access.

This massive development will not only enhance Dubai’s coastline but also set new benchmarks for luxury living in the region..
