The most expensive areas in Essex usually have a rural lifestyle, but do have transport links into London, and more modern amenities that you would expect in a town today. This one was highlighted as the most expensive place to buy a house in Essex last year by Rightmove, as you will rarely find a detached property going for less than £1,000,000. Properties in Herongate had an overall average price of £799,444 over the last year, but this includes flats and semi-detached properties.

The majority of sales in Herongate during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of £1,195,000, according to Rightmove. Herongate is a small village sitauted on the A127 just outside of Brentwood. Herongate and Ingrave have a population of approximately 2156 residents, and is surrounded by farm land and Thorndon Country Park North and South with colourful woodlands, birdlife, open parkland, fishing and family attractions.

Due to the wide expanse of greenery surrounding it, residents of Herongate benefit from many beautiful walks and easy access to nature, despite being so close to a larger town centre. There are many amenities in the village that many would consider "posh".

There is a country club in the area, and two golf clubs within ten minutes of the village. Additionally, there is a doctor's surgery, a farm shop and a small M&S. The tiny village even has a school and some cricket fields.

In addition to the A127 being minutes away by car, the village is within easy driving distance of two Essex stations - Shenfield and Brentwood - which makes Herongate a desirable commuter village. If you look on Rightmove today and look at the detached houses in this village, you will be amazed by the detached properties in particular that are up for sale - some have swimming pools, koi carp ponds and more.
