On Wednesday, August 28, Piper Aircraft revealed that its flagship aircraft, the M700 Fury, has officially achieved its type certification from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) . The aircraft was recently certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) earlier this year, and it has been awarded several follow-on certifications, including flying into known icing (FIKI) and unpaved field certification . However, this type certificate from the TCCA includes FIKI certification upfront.



The company was initially founded nearly 100 years ago. Newest certification for the Piper M700 Fury Piper's newest aircraft was awarded its type certification that allowed deliveries to commence in Canada on August 28. Currently, Piper has at least one delivery of the M700 Fury to a customer in Canada this quarter.

The President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Piper Aircraft, John Calcagno, spoke about the latest type certificate for its flagship aircraft. Calcagno stated, "The first international certification of the M700 FURY with FIKI from TCCA is a crucial part of the overall value proposition of the M700 FURY, as well as a key safety feature for operators. This certification not only validates our commitment to safety and performance, but also opens new markets for this exceptional aircraft.

" The TCCA certification also includes FIKI certification, which was previously certified as a follow-on effort by the FAA. The FIKi certification is important to specific regions in Canada , especially where icing conditions are frequently found. This allows year-round operations within the country.

Beyond Piper's first international delivery of the M700 fury scheduled this quarter, Piper also intends to achieve several other international deliveries by the end of the year. The company is pursuing additional international certifications to achieve these deliveries. Ongoing certification efforts by Piper include the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) , the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) in Brazil.

About the M700 Fury The M700 Fury is Piper's most-recently certified aircraft. It was awarded its type certificate by the FAA in March, earlier this year. It received several follow-on certifications, including FIKI and unpaved field operations certification.
