An iconic building in Manchester, the huge curved hotel at the top of Piccadilly has had many names, and has recently undergone a £33m refurbishment for its latest incarnation. Previously known as the Manchester Macdonald Hotel and the Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, it now has new owners to become the Marriott Hotel Piccadilly. Bosses there have given it a huge renovation and are maximising their historic links with Manchester United Football Club.
The multimillion-pound treatment makes it the largest 4-star hotel in the city centre, and it has seen a revamp of each of its 338 rooms boasting the largest standard rooms in the city too. The Manchester Evening News were recently invited to the Marriott Hotel Piccadilly to experience the transformation - with an extra does of Man United magic too. It has an air of quiet luxury with rooms designed to maximise that extra space and maximise your productivity too, in theory. Anybody looking for any sort of extravagance may be disappointed with the safe direction of the déco.
