Due to its “unique shape”, the town can feel like a bit of a hidden gem for tourists. Croatia Tourism explains: “If you drive a car on Croatian D8 road between Rogoznica and Sibenik, you will hardly fail to notice a small peninsula with a unique shape.

Something else that makes Primosten so special is its preservation of Mediterranean traditions, including food.

“The originality of Primosten is one of its most important tourist aces,” Croatia Tourism says. Every summer a folklore festival Primoštenske užance is held in one of the villages located near the main town. This is an exciting celebration of traditional Mediterranean culture including food, folk costume, music, and other authentic products.

The nearest airport to Primosten can be found in Split, which is about an hour’s drive away by car or bus. Direct flights run from London to Spilt and take around two and a half hours.
